Stay Grounded no matter what season you’re in ?

Stay grounded, no matter what season you’re in.

This tree right here was planted a few years before Kyle and I started dating. Nearly 17 years later, it’s grown to be a beautiful tree.

Throughout its life, it’s roots have grown, strengthening its balance and growth upward. Without those roots being deep and strong, the tree would fall over.

Over the course of my life, I’ve been faced with many challenges and I’ve had to look inward, to my roots of who I am, in order to stay grounded through it all.

This winter, I have had to look inward A LOT. I’ve had to go back to the roots of who I am and strengthen them in order to grow.

Yesterday, I realllllllly had to dig deep to keep from falling over…

Our mechanic called (if you didn’t know we dropped our bus off to have routine maintenance done) to let us know the front end of our bus needs to be rebuilt. Great.

Not only does it need to be rebuilt, only 1 place has the parts we need in the entire country… when only one place has the part, you know it’s going to be expensive.

Just the parts are going to cost $5,300 ?

Which the total cost of this mechanic visit will be pushing $8-10k. Money we have to figure out how to come up with.

We keep getting knocked down, time and time again, but somehow, dusting ourselves off and getting back up again.

People ask us how we do it and I go back to my roots. My roots of knowing that everything happens for a reason and there’s a lesson in every struggle.

There’s a lot we had to work through individually, as a couple, and a family. If we didn’t come back to Florida this winter, we wouldn’t have worked through what we had to, in order to have major inner growth spurts.

For me, I value those lessons because they keep my roots growing strong. They help me continue to grow as a human. I look back and see how far I’ve grown and I’m so grateful for each hardship I’ve endured. It’s made me who I am today.

Life is about the journey, not the destination. Slow down and enjoy the moment. Grow your roots. Then, you’ll discover what it means to have true contentment and peace in your life, despite all the storms you face.
